How we work

We make sure you have the most up to date legislation and best-practice information

Interpreting Changes

Vital to our work is keeping abreast of new or changing legislation, regulations, case law and emerging best practices.

Our experts employ the following strategies to stay informed:

  • Signing-up to relevant email notification alerts such as: Department for Education, Ofsted, Department of Health and Social Care, Care Quality Commission, Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman etc.
  • Signing-up to relevant newsletters such as: Social Care Institute for Excellence, Skills for Care, 39 Essex Chambers
  • Effective use of our professional LinkedIn networks
  • Attending events (training, conferences and forums)
  • Links with professional membership groups e.g. SWE
  • Liaising with you to understand changing local policy and pressures
  • Individual and group CPD activity (training, peer supervision)

When identified, suggested procedure amendments are discussed and agreed by our Content Development and Review Board.

Editorial Quality Assurance

When a change needs to be made to an existing procedure, or new content needs to be written, the task is allocated to a tri.x subject matter expert to undertake relevant research/consultation and complete the first draft.

First drafts are quality assured by a second tri.x expert before being approved for publishing by the relevant Head of Service.

Any amendments that require legal oversight will be submitted to a relevant legal associate prior to being published.

The Content Development and Review Board tracks the progress of all editorial tasks to ensure that updates are project managed in a timely way.

We have a system to ensure that procedures are reviewed periodically, especially those that have not required an amendment for some time. Depending on the nature of the content, these reviews will be undertaken by a tri.x subject matter expert or a legal associate.

Updating your Procedures

Most of the procedures solutions we provide are updated through a scheduled update process. Scheduled updates are opportunities for the latest procedure changes to be integrated into your manual.

Scheduled updates take place once every 6 months following your initial development. The process begins with an update plan that will set out clearly all the amendments that tri.x will be making to ensure that your procedures remain as up to date as possible. You will have time to review these amendments and submit any additional change requests to your Lead Consultant.

An amendment note will be added to the top of all updated procedures and the site also has an amendment area, where a record of all changes made over the contractual period is available.

The system has a ‘Register for Updates’ facility – users that register will receive notification emails from us when updates are published.

Each version of the site is archived.

Update of tri.x resources

Many of our procedure solutions contain free online tri.x resources. The same tools and methods outlined above are used to identify amendments to these resources and ensure that these are made in a timely way. tri.x resources do not have scheduled updates; instead, they are updated centrally as required with the latest version always available online.

The new format is much easier to navigate and engage with, and it has really motivated me to ensure it is as accurate as possible. I really enjoy using it, and I know that my SCP Business Manager feels the same way.

Madeline Jones, Learning & Development Officer St. Helens Borough Council

The Adult Care Providers Handbook is an incredibly valuable resource that can be accessed by managers or care workers to provide instant or deep information on any subject in health and social care. It has been incredible to be working with tri.x and with people who are as passionate as us. To meet a team and organisation who are likeminded, at the same level as us in terms of quality, and who also want projects to thrive has been so inspiring.

Colin Hanley, Training Co-Ordinator Age UK Hereford & Worcestershire

We had excellent feedback from Ofsted, who said our documents and policy section was outstanding and thank you to the tri.x team for all your work on this.

Derby City Supported Accommodation

tri.x’s approach as a company is to be responsive to the customers who use the manuals and ensure it ultimately meets their needs. Foster carers have found the manual to be hugely beneficial and find it to be a useful resource tool to support vulnerable children in their care.

Derby City, Local Authority Children’s Services

It has been an absolute pleasure working in partnership with tri.x to develop our Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board Multi-Agency Policy and Procedures. The tri.x team demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and experience in Adult Safeguarding and was able to provide us with an impressive foundation that was statutorily compliant and highlighted national guidance and best practices. We were then able to shape our policy and procedures to ensure they truly represented our local values, structures, and operational practices.

Carole Paz-Uceira, Safeguarding Adults Business Manager Gateshead Council

tri.x has been extremely supportive and flexible in terms of meeting our needs and providing a service that is fit for purpose. Our main point of contact has been extremely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to achieve a solution for our business. We are extremely happy with what has been achieved. All those who have used tri.x within the organisation have found it to be beneficial and extremely easy to use and access.”
